为了实现跨洋洲际海底光纤通信,在G.652单模光纤基础上进一步研究出了截止波长位移单模光纤,G.654光纤折射率剖面结构形状与G.652单模光纤基本相同。G.654光纤是通过采用纯二氧化硅(SiO2)纤芯来降低光纤衰减,靠包层掺杂F使折射率下降而获得所需要的折射率差。与G.652光纤相比,G.654光纤性能上的突出特点是:在1550nm工作波长,衰减系数极小,仅为0.15dB/km左右;通过截止波长位移方法,大大改善了光纤的弯曲附加损耗。ITU-T建议将截止波长位移单模光纤定义为G.654光纤。
应用环境
G.654光纤主要用于海缆通信系统,为适应海缆通信长距离、大容量的需求。
产品特点
(1)降低光纤的损耗;从G.652的0.22dB/km降到了0.19dB/km(标准值)
(2)增大光纤的模场直径;光纤的模场直径越大,通过光纤横截面的能量密度就越小,从而改善光纤的非线性***应,提升光纤通信系统的信噪比。
