北亿纤通推出的OSFP是一种新型的可插拔形式,拥有8条高速电子通道,最初支持400gbps(8×50g)。它比QSFP稍宽稍深,但仍然IU面板可以支持32个OSFP接口,每1U可支持12.8 Tbps。
400G光学器件需要比100G光学器件更多的功耗,其中许多光器件不适合现有的QSFP封装。根据特定的400G光学技术,初始功率范围从7.5瓦到15瓦。
OSFP有一个集成的散热器,极大地提高了散热性能,并使模块在常规气流的开关机箱中可提供高达15W的功率。
由于OSFP比QSFP稍微宽和深一些,它可以建立一个适配器,在一个OSFP笼中支持现有的100G QSFP光模块。
OSFP能够满足800 Gbps光学系统的预期热需求,当这些系统和光学在未来可用时。
OSFP MSA将定义OSFP规范,包括机械模块、卡笼、电接口、引脚和管理接口。
